[July
28, 1997] -- Mangione's version of baseball standard
a hit at Camden Yards Rochester musician/composer Gap
Mangione's rendition is a big hit at Baltimore's Camden
Yards.
Six
times in the last three weeks, the song was played as
the Orioles took the field to start a home game.
"It's
too early to call it a tradition, but we love it," says
Orioles director of events Spiro Alafassos. "It's upbeat
and fun to listen to."
The
song has been played during and after several Red Wings
games this season, but not nearly often enough.
